For this project, we had to create an animation using After Effects that would synchronise with sound. I recreated the opening sequence of the Walt Disney Pictures and Pixar Animation Studios film, Monsters Inc. I tried to capture the camaraderie between the “doors” and the “letters” giving them anthropomorphic qualities, much like the original sequence. I designed the doors in Adobe Illustrator and composited them as 3D layers in After Effects. Key framing techniques were used to animate the sequence, along with the camera parented to a null object. A visual diary was created to accompany this piece.
