Directed by Brad Masi, Streetcar City captures the rise and fall of Cleveland's electric streetcar system, once the largest in the country. Best Feature Documentary award at Cleveland's Indie Gathering Film Festival in 2024, the film shows how streetcars were central to the development and connectivity of Cleveland as a growing industrial city. The film travels from the first horse-drawn streetcars in late 1800's Cleveland to modernized electric streetcars that offered primary transit for Clevelanders through the 1940's. The streetcars may be gone, but their impact still shapes life in Cleveland and its inner-ring suburbs.
