Have you ever asked yourself <br />What reason do I have to rise today <br />If you have, here is a good reason <br />Someone special is in need of your help <br /> <br />Always arrogant, dismissive of her wants <br />Never once a polite introduction <br />Taking her gifts, that are well meant <br />Never having time to become familiar <br /> <br />Your eyes, she pleased on many occasion <br />Preoccupations having made you blind <br />Always has she been in your vision <br />Your blindness, bringing much pain <br /> <br />Imagine the heartache of a mother <br />Whose children have abandoned her <br />Ignoring, and neglecting her basic needs <br />So many of us, do this every day <br /> <br />Selflessness has always been her mantra <br />Is it to much to ask, we try to do the same <br />A little helping hand, in her hour of need <br />Clock is ticking, its time she does not have <br /> <br />If an introduction is still necessary <br />Allow me the honor of that introduction <br />She is your benefactor, your nurturer <br />Please be upstanding, for Mother Nature<br /><br />Ken Duffy<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/give-me-a-reason-10/
