It's christmas time <br />An excuse to eat junk and drink loads of wine. <br />Hanging decorations on the tree <br />Make it pretty for all to see. <br /> <br />Presents wrapped up under the tree <br />I wonder what is there for me? <br />The pulling of crackers <br />And frantic shredding of wrappers. <br /> <br />Listening to christmas songs <br />Everyone singing merrily along. <br />Sitting round the roaring fire <br />The heart is full of love and desire. <br /> <br />The children are all excited <br />Once Santa had been, they're delighted. <br />He only comes once a year <br />Being towed by his faithful reindeer. <br /> <br />Christmas is time for mince pies <br />And fill the air with joyful cries. <br />Families coming together <br />Sometimes you wish it could last forever. <br /> <br />It only lasts for one day <br />But the memories inside will stay. <br />It's the end of another year <br />365 days to go and again christmas will be here.<br /><br />Hannah Davies<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/christmas-time-13/
