I was here first <br />I tire of societies reverence to youth <br />Those dilettantes don't know about life <br />I'm sick of the young <br />I've invested more to this life <br />And now they want to put me on a shelf <br />No way man. I'm not passe. <br />I'm not older just better <br />aged like fine wine for the best flavor <br />to marinate like leftovers <br />tastes better later <br />not to be superseded <br />i may seem old fashioned but i don't follow trends <br />i have my own personal style <br />they think I've out worn my welcome <br />I'm no dinosaur(I'm quite aware what's going on) <br />i just don't care. here's a finger for your extinction(i refuse to be it) <br />i just want my place in the world <br />history has me etched in it's fading stone <br />I won't lie down quietly <br />I'll fight tooth and nail to maintain my spot here <br />My right to exist and be recognized is strong <br />My venerable spirit waits and will be heard <br />I've still got time(in this senescence) <br />I stand obstinate. I'm still here <br />I won't just fade away <br />I refuse to be null and void docile like <br />I've earned my place <br />I'm mad and up for fighting for my right under the sun <br />Screw the youth they won't erase me from the books <br /> i stand in opposition.
