Bleep, bleep, with eyes closed I can hear <br />Bleep, bleep, I open my eyes and stare <br />Last I remember was my own room in cheer <br />And now a white room all around I fear <br /> <br />I had a cough, a stuffy nose too <br />But very sick I had not a clue <br />Now as I look with sight too clear <br />I'm in a white room and full of fear <br /> <br />It's happened before, I'd be feeling blue <br />Just a little cold or touch of the flu <br />Then next I know germs kick in high gear <br />In a white room seems like a full year <br /> <br />Each time it's happened it's always the same <br />By now you would think I would know the game <br />I've tried to live life with smile and cheer <br />But I hate the white room, I hate it here <br /> <br />It's all pings, whorls and bleeps <br />Hour after hour it gives me the creeps <br />There is no one here to call me dear <br />Alone in my white room, that's certainly clear <br /> <br />Wish the bright lights could please be dimmed <br />Haven't seen mom, she's lost in the wind <br />I'm sad and scared, will no one appear <br />In my white room while dad has a beer <br /> <br />So alone I feel while nurses smile <br />Afraid and deserted, I must be vile <br />My heart feels like a big big bloody smear <br />Alone in my white room with no love to hear<br /><br />Darlene Walsh<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/my-white-room/
