Hope! <br />Oh! <br />A child! little red cherry cheeks cheering! <br />Hopping liitle feet! ....and mother's bosom, <br /> <br />Soft, crimson green feet rose bud, braving in the wind! <br />To spring in the curls of the scented breeze, <br /> <br />Orange pinge of morning December sun, <br />On basking hairy squirrel on the bark, <br /> <br />Aching cage of a caterpillar to flutter, and to fly! <br />And to lemon leaves! Shredded yellowing, a respite, <br /> <br />Cracking ends of corny feet in the toil of earth, <br />To spring up the pips lush 'een harvest, <br /> <br />Black bronzed taut melted muscles in the heat of steel, <br />For few nickles of the clinkering meals, <br /> <br />In the wag of the tail of wet dog, shivering, <br />Standing near a beggar's bowl, eyes flickering, <br /> <br />Hope never despairs, but life finally repairs! <br />…..and pot ends up…. <br />In the dungeons of cold darkness, <br />In the warm ash of bony embers. <br /> <br />Or beyond the stars, in the soul sojourn <br />There lie our majestic chambers? <br /> <br />(02/11/2008, Hisar)<br /><br />Rajesh Kumar Vaid<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/hope-227/
