May Day protests in France have turned violent, forcing police to use tear gas and water cannons and arrest more than 200 protestors. <br /> Scenes from Tuesday's rallies show hooded individuals throwing projectiles at police and through shop windows.<br />Police had been warned the day before of possible clashes with far-left anarchist groups, known as Black Blocs, after a call on social media for a "Revolutionary Day."<br />The rallies on Labor Day come amid continued anger toward President Emmanuel Macron's economic reform plans, which involve privatizing the state rail operator and public universities. <br />Labor unions see his plans as a rollback to France's cherished public service and favoring the wealthy. <br />
