<br /> An Iowa judge has temporarily blocked the state’s new abortion law, from taking effect on July 1st.<br />The strictest of its kind, it effectively bans the procedure after a fetal heartbeat is detected. <br />This may come at about the six-week mark, before a woman even realizes she is pregnant.<br />The temporary block allows opponents and defenders of the measure to present legal arguments.<br />Attorneys for the Thomas More Society, defending the law for the state, agreed not to contest the court order. <br />
