France is bidding farewell to the late Jacques Chirac,... a much beloved French politician.<br /> In a nationally-televised speech on Thursday, French President Emmanuel Marcon paid his respects to Chirac,...describing him "a great Frenchman." <br />The usually luminous Eiffel Tower turned dark, commemorating Chirac, a prominent figure in French politics for five decades. <br />France will hold a national day of mourning on Monday. <br />Chirac died at the age of 86 on Thursday, after serving the country as the French leader, Prime Minister and Mayor of Paris. <br />
