So ambitious, as was he,
By the fire in his eye.
Nobody else on this sea,
Could hope to match he or I,
Regarding our kindred drive,
He was my only true peer.
For we both will always strive
To rise high above our fear.

Long mistreated, as was he,
But by his forgiving hand,
I looked onwards to the sea,
Past this island's tragic sand.
He destroyed my dark prison,
He set my tortured soul free.
By him I have arisen,
This renewed life he gave me.

An orphan young, as was he,
But his drive convinced me to,
Set courageously to sea,
To be a warrior like you,
My father, hero, and pride.
A brave soldier of the seas,
By pushing through any tide,
However grim they may be.

I was saved so young, as he,
By selfless sailors that gave
Up their dreams that we would see
Our own dreams riding the wave.
He managed to pull me away,
From my first actual home,
He too has given me stay;
I long felt destined to roam.

I was kindly held, as he,
By such a spirited soul,
That loved the monster in me,
His direction made me whole.
He raised me above the life,
Of my hatred's bitter fear.
He conquered that coldest strife,
And made my misty eyes clear,

I was doomed at womb, as he,
To be loveless in this place,
He battled the world for me,
To put a smile on my face.
For the first time in ages,
By his love I lived despite,
What the lying, cruel pages,
Said was not within my right.

I was regretful, as he,
But we have both come to know,
The dark currents of the sea,
That seek to wickedly show,
The fault inside both our dreams.
But our souls kept on going,
That our wrongs could be redeemed,
By our breezes, still blowing.

I was lost so long, as he,
For dozens of lonely years,
I drifted on the black sea,
Forced to face so many fears.
But he renewed my dead will.
To go onwards at all cost.
My spirit enduring still,
Ensures my oath is not lost.

This family we have now
Is owed to that single man.
So we collectively vow
To do anything we can.
For him being crowned as King.
Rests in our indebted hands,
Thus our shared goal is to bring
Him upon that promised land.\n\nM.H.
