A tragic road accident in Gorakhpur claimed two lives and left three others injured after a pickup truck collided with an e-rickshaw on Monday evening.<br /><br />The incident occurred around 5 pm on Kharela Road in the Gida area of Sahajanwa. According to reports, the speeding pickup rammed into the e-rickshaw with force, causing severe injuries to five occupants.<br /><br />Two victims, identified as Bechan Prajapati (75) and Shivkirat Singh (65), succumbed to their injuries. Their bodies have been sent to a medical college for post-mortem examination.<br /><br />Three others injured in the accident are currently undergoing treatment at a hospital, where their condition is being closely monitored by doctors.<br /><br />The pickup driver fled the scene immediately after the collision, turning the case into a hit-and-run. Police reached the spot soon after receiving information and initiated an investigation.<br /><br />Authorities are scanning nearby CCTV footage to identify and trace the absconding driver.
