Description

When death is your business, what is your life? For the Fisher family, the world outside of their family-owned funeral home continues to be at least as challenging as—and far less predictable than—the one inside. From Oscar(R)-winning screenwriter Alan Ball (American Beauty) comes this drama series that takes a darkly comic look at a dysfunctional L.A. family that runs a funeral business. As prodigal elder son Nate Fisher returns home for the holidays to news of his father's death, the family must learn to deal with the death of one of their own—while figuring out how to go ahead with the business of living. What emerges throughout Season One is a quirky, funny, emotional, life-affirming look at the enlightenment of a grieving American family…that happens to be in the grief-management business. Peter Krause, Frances Conroy, Michael C. Hall, Lauren Ambrose and Rachel Griffiths star.

This is seriously the best TV show. Period. I'm not a big TV show fan but I actually saw this one twice! You need to get through the first 3-4 episodes, I thought they were kind of slow but after that it's great. If you like action and complicated plots - don't watch it. Watch it if you like to think about life.
  • The best show in history of American TV

I think this show is simply the best. Not all seasons are equally good, but non the less it's brilliant as a whole.

This has to be the best show to ever grace the screen. Never has life , love , and loss ever been showcased more perfectly. The dull subdued hue that its filmed in captures the entire feel throughout the begging...to what has to be the absolute BEST SERIES FINALE EVER. It never disappoints. You will laugh at the unexpected and cry at the comical. And actually...you may just walk away and understand life a lot more.

Six Feet Under is my all time favorite tv show. Nothing else compares. It's very dark but at the same time has a twisted sense of humor. It's brilliant and I hated to see it end.

I was an original fan when the show aired on HBO. Years later, I still tell people, weekly, that this is the BEST SHOW EVER MADE.

I never caught this show while it was on but after hearing so much about Dexter's Michael C. Hall in Six Feet Under, I decided to check it out and in a matter of a few weeks, I'd watched the entire series. It's a great show with superb acting and story lines that keep you interested. One of the few shows on TV that actually cared about character development. One thing though, has anyone else noticed "Brenda" as the "What's really in a hot dog?" lady on that lousy commercial? Never cared much for her anyway...Buy the season, buy the series, you won't be disappointed.

Both my parents passed away last fall, and this show could of been toned down just a litttle. I found the show hard to watch. That is why I just watched the Pilot showing. Too much on the F word, but what are you gonna do. I guess itunes will not print this, but they should to see how the show affected people. By the way, my parents passed one month to the exact date of each other. Both 85 years old and were married 65 years. Those commericals for funeral stuff were a bit morbid.Or should I say , strange or maybe wierd. The sister in the show played her part to a T. Other than that, I am sorry that I did not rate this better.
