Description

From award-winning writer Russell T Davies, The Sarah Jane Adventures are thrilling stories for children. Big adventures, superb effects, wicked comedy. Sarah Jane Smith is a truly remarkable woman. A former journalist and companion to Doctor Who, she inhabits a world of mystery, danger, and wonder. A world where aliens are commonplace and the Earth is constantly under threat. A world that her young friends — Maria, Luke, and Clyde — could only dream of before they met Sarah Jane. Nothing will ever be ordinary for them again as they join her and become embroiled in a world of adventure, chases, alien objects, and monsters. From the monstrous Slitheen to the mysterious veiled Abbess and the sinister Mrs. Wormwood, Sarah Jane and her companions fight to confound Earth’s foes — with a little help from Mr. Smith (her highly advanced alien computer), a sonic lipstick (which can open locked doors), and her scanner watch (which can detect alien life forms and identify them — a present from a very special friend).

Hilarious moment in Whatever Happened to Sarah Jane?, Part 2- (Alan runs past Chrissie with Graske chasing him) Chrissie (with glass of wine): "Now that is just RIDICULOUS!" (walks back to room full of people watching television): "I tell you, my ex and a dwarf in a suit..." (can't remember the rest of that sentence)

This show is indeed geared for younger audiences, but "Sarah Jane Adventures" is produced by Russell T Davies who also produced Dr. Who , while Torchwood is not produced by Russell T. Davies. That is why the aliens are similar between Dr. Who and Sarah Jane. Ever seen a Bane or Slitheen on Torchwood? ...Not! Personally, I really don't like Torchwood. It's a show that is stuck in Cardiff, and can't seem to grow beyond Cardiff. Lots of violence and alternative sex, but under the glitz and hype, it's a show that does not have a direction yet. Might have potential, but still waiting. Sarah Jane is indeed incomplete. It is missing the pilot episode "The Invasion of the Bane". C'mon iTunes, get with the program. How can you say "Buy Season" when you are missing the pilot eposide? Get this episode on iTunes already, please! Although missing the pilot, I still bought the episodes.
  • Great Dr.Who spin-off...for KIDS

Don't get me wrong: The Sarah Jane Adventures are pretty much in the tradition of Dr.Who and Torchwood but this is not a TV show made for adults and it shows. It looks and feels less "mature" than Dr.Who/Torchwood, it is more naive and with a much lower level of suspense, gore and violence. I don't say it is bad, it isn't...if you're 12 years old. If you're an adult and if you enjoyed Dr.Who and Torchwood, you may want to think twice before buying this. I'm a huge Dr.Who/Torchwood fan and I regretted deepfully buying The Sarah Jane Adventures. For kids? Definetely a nice way to introduce your kid to the world of Dr.Who/Torchwood. For adults? Pretty much an insult for your eyes, ears and...your patience. ;-)

I enjoyed this series greatly, although splitting every ep in two took some getting used to. Much better than torchwood. More attention to family and adventures rather than sex and "alternative" lifestyles.

How could people actually like this show. The story lines have been done, and it's boring. There is no fun and imagination like DW or Torchwood. By the way. Torchwood is 1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000... better.
  • Great — but incomplete!

Fun series aimed at kids that's both classic and new Who — but the pilot episode is missing!
