  • A little reality

Shallot hasn't watched it all. Yes she is a 'vegetarian' but she also eats FISH that they catch.

I agree to a certain extent with shallots’ review about the show “lying” about certain things. But I think that’s getting pretty nit-picky. I don’t think there is one single TV show that is 100% unscripted. Television shows are supposed to be entertaining and this one does not disappoint. There are few “Reality” shows that present you with a functional family and good work ethic. It’s like a breath of fresh air to see them when they come along. My wife and I love to watch the Kilchers every week. The stories are pretty good and the characters are great! We look forward to downloading them every time an episode is available.

This family will go hungry if they don't kill animal X!!! They are depending on killing animal Y for their very survival!!! Oh and by the way, Charlotte is a vegetarian. It's a miracle she survives!!! Amazing liars! But good show.

Really good show! Good to see something that shows hard work and good family values. America needs more of this and less of the Kardashians!

It is so good to see a show where everybody is trying to help each other. Usually everybodies trying to tear each other down. A sane family what a change.

I love this show. I live in Alaska and this show makes us look like barbarians.
  • Orphan calf

I saw a cowboy take the skinned hide from the mother cow that didn't make it and very carefully sewed it around the new adopting mother. They then did all the things you'all do. So maybe the calf would have made it anyway, but have you heard of this or had to use it? After raising both small and larger herds over 25 years, I am amazed at how good your herd looks after winter. What do you do, blanket them every night? Bring them in the house? Lot of respect.
