slippin and a slidn't , stand by me. Back to the basics, took me a while to aprreciate it, long live Rock,
Alway will be curious what he would have put out if he was still around now.
Imagin ( pun intended) him and Paul together now, with ringo even, would have been so cool.

Finally, John was headed back in the right direction. Unfortunately, there’s too much echo in the vocals and most songs feel empty without the supporting harmonization that his former band mates once provided. Peggy Sue is wonderfully done. However, most songs (although nostalgic) will leave you feeling like something’s missing. This is not meant to be a negative review, simply an honest opinion of a man who was a phenomenal band leader but a lackluster solo performer.
Wonderful stuff

I found this in a used bookstore and picked it up mostly becauae I love the song Peggy Sue (and I have a dog named that, seriously ; ) What a fun collection it turned out to be.
This iss some of the music that influenced and inspried John Lennon If you want to trace rock and roll back before the Beatles, this is a greet place to start. These are the songs that John Lennon loved. The Beatles would not have been the Beatls wihout those who came before.
Also--check out Chuch Berry if you want to know what else influenced Lennon.
I like this a lot!

This album is reminiscent of the music John listened to in his early years that inspired him to start a band of his own with his musician friend Paul. This is John being John.
