Fins Attack 1 & 2 , and Bella & The Beast are the only times I felt this score achieved greatness. Desplat has an incredible resume, and when I heard he was attached, I was thoroughly excited to hear what he'd bring to the table. But honestly, as a whole, this might be the weakest composed score of the entire franchise. Aside from the tracks mentioned, there's not a whole lot to reccomend here. Most of the score bleeds into the background, and for what's supposed to be a reboot, there isn't a new main theme to separate it from the rest.
Williams showed us why he's the GOAT with his work on the first two movies. Giacchino worked overtime with the Jurassic World movies. Davis may have overused the OG theme on his score but for the most part did a very good job. Desplat felt like he was brought on last minute and worked just to pay the bills. Shame. So much potential here.
