Reviews

  • One of the best from Alexandre Desplat

The movie that accompanies this score was amazing enough, but the score only enhances it trifold with its almost story-like way of showing the thinking process of main character Alan Turing. Every piece tells a story and fits its subject perfectly. For example, "Christopher" is the theme for the machine that Turing creates to break Nazi codes, and the piece is very mechanic, machine-like to the point where you can imagine a machine in your mind's eye. Alexandre Desplat is one of my favorite composers of all time for a reason.
  • THE BEST MOVIE & SOUNDTRACK EVER!

This is, by far, one of my favorite movie soundtracks ever (besides Pirates of the Caribbean & Harry Potter, the last of which was also written by Alexandre Desplat). It fits so well with the movie's theme, and every time I hear it, it brings me back to some of those intense scenes. This is definitely worth buying!
  • It Depicts the Mind

Desplat mentioned that it was quite difficult to show the viewers how Turing's mind works. This track is flawless, brilliant even. It's almost as if you can hear the gears turning inside Alan Turing's head. Desplat takes one on an emotional and intellectual journey on this soundtrack. This album's got finesse, and a lot of it too.
  • Takes the movie to a new level!

Few composers can craft an emotional masterpiece such as this score. It brought the film to a new height and made the movie all the more emotional. Great score.

I felll in love with The Imitation Game and the story of Alan Turing. The Oscar winning script by Graham Moore, the casting of Benedict Cumberbatch as Turing, and this beautiful score are just some elements that bring Turing's story life. The movie is powerful and a heartbreaking one, this score adds to the emotion that is the Imitation Game. I pre-ordered the movie and eagerly await it

I did not even know Alexandre Desplat wrote the score for The Imitation Game until I noticed his name in the opening credits. Having been a longtime fan of his work I knew I was in for a treat. It's simply beautiful, deeply emotional and haunting. Desplat is a very gifted composer. This score is Oscar worthy, just like Benedict Cumberbatch's performance as Alan Turing.
  • The first album I have seen with only five star reviews, and with good reason

I watched this movie yesterday, and it is nothing short of brilliant. The score realizes how to perfectly intertwine with the film, and adds another wondrous dimension to this beautiful movie. A truly exceptional score, my personal favorite of DeSplat's.
