I've always thought High On Fire was great ever since I listened to Snakes for the Divine, but I must say, Death is this Communion is epic! The overall heaviness is incredible, even heavier than any grindcore or death metal. My favorite song on this album is Rumors of War. It's heavy with lots of thrash elements, making me want to mosh every time I hear it! Listen to Rumors of War (and the whole album, of course) and you'll see what I mean.

I listend to this album all the time when I was in 4th grade! Its just hit me now that this is very repetative and a little boring. I mean track after track after track of listening through it again 4 years later the vocalist is so dull and seems to trying to hard to sound like Lemmy Kilimster. I dont know if your a person who is just starting to get into metal I guess i recomend it but other wise buy some Slayer or Venom.

This album is one of the heaviest albums that's actually good. Plain and simple, this is some people's limit, but if you get the music, it's a masterpiece.
This band is god awful.

I've seen this band live twice against my will. They are the worst band I have ever heard, second only to Converge. If you really like the sound of a rolling trainwreck, then this is the perfect album for you. If you like REAL music, I suggest Mastodon.

Ok, iTunes told me that if I liked Mastodon (which I do) then I must like High On Fire...well guess what I don't. The singer can't sing/scream all he does is like growl? The guitar and drums seem to repeat the same thing through the whole song. The songs are not well put together and not very...uhh...good. But if your a fan go for it. But if you are getting it because iTunes suggested it...DON'T!!!
