  • Larry at his best.

Larry is wearing two hats here. His rhythm playing is incredibly creative and sensitive. Larry’s melodies and soloing will take you on a journey that is never disappointing. His tone, taste and musicality are impeccable. When recording, Larry always does the track in one take. He never pieces several solos(tracks) together to make one great solo. He always records it from beginning to end (I know this because I’ve had the luxury of spending many hours in the studio with him). That is a testament to Larry’s magic and musicianship. Every song here is treated as though he’s recording it for the first time. It is no surprise this album has been nominated for a Grammy,” Pop Instrumental Album”. The album is perfectly titled because you can feel Larry’s heart and soul in every note. You can listen to this over and over and hear something new each time. This is a perfect c.d. for your car, dinner table or bedroom….. Congrats Larry.
  • Amazing tone...great "remakes"

I have been an avid and devoted LC fan for 32 years, my first LP was "Strikes Twice", so needless to say, this "strikes" a chord with me! I got the box set, which contains all three CD's, the original releases of the "re-makes", a Live recording made in Tokyo, and the actual "re-makes" of the songs on Disc 1. This is a great set. The only thing that threw me a little was some of the "drum machine" sounds on disc 3, Larry's guitar sound is so incredibly rich and fat, that for me personally, the drum sounds are redundant. However, that is a minor thing, considering that these are songs that I have carried in my head and heart for over 30 years, and now we have a fresh LC take on them! I highly recommend the box set, but at the very least get the "Vol.1" which is the 3rd disc in the box set! Thanks Larry for releasing this! You are still the Tonemeister!
