Emotional Animal

Although I am a fan of Duggie's work, this one takes a bit to grow on you. He is more focused than in his Poundhound outings, but the overall compass isn't quite pointing north on all the songs. Crashing is good and I enjoy Freak the Funk Out and Mr. Hateyourself. I think that he's a good guitarist, but if you've heard the Supershine and The Mob collections ... you'll see what a great guitarist can add to his work. A solid work.

When one of the worlds best singers happens to be one of the worlds best bassists, and then you throw in great song-writing, from somewhere deep in the soul, you get a masterpiece. Take it for about five good spins and let it grow on you, and you'll soon experience the magic of mature song-crafting and brilliance.
