I've only recently come across David's music and I am very happy I did. This album is strong start to finish, puts you right into your heart, and leaves you there. I'm not even hugely into kirtan, but this was one of the best albums I have bought in years. Do yourself a favor and purchase a copy.

David has once again created musical magic soul filled with love and devotion. Travel Well is a beautiful woven tapestry of sacred Sanskrit mantra and English lyrics. It's colors are a kaleidescope of tender tribute, devoted love, funky fun, joyful jamming and kicking kirtan.Soon to be everyone's favorite go to music at the yoga studio, at home, in the car or wherever you are. Om love Saraswati Ma.

The title Travel Well is perfect-it feels as though you take a true journey when listening to this album. From the first track all the way to Travel Well the final song-it feels as though you dive deeper and deeper the an eclectic mix of music styles and genres taking you deeper and deeper until you land right smack in the middle of your heart. It is incredible to see the way in which David has the ability to keep the beautiful essence of the mantras and brilliantly uses various styles of music like reggae and blues- but keeps the essence and inherent beauty in the offering. I have been playing Resting in Rasa in the yoga classes I teach and students are so moved by the beauty of this song and Mira's (david’s wife) voice is as breathtaking as ever. A beautiful beautiful tribute to this journey we are on.

Loving this newest addition to David’s inspiring music. I love to listen and sing along and do so non-stop. it is my preferred music in my car or iPod at home. The blend of rock, blues, calypso and devotion offers up an inspired mix. Instrumental contributions from guitarist Philippo Frachini and the female responses from Mira, Emy and Brenda are wonderful. Tulsi too! Thank you David!

My iTunes Top 25 used to look like the line-up from the summer festival circuit; Grateful Dead, Phish, Blues Traveler, the always appropriate Bob Marley cover band. As my yoga, meditation and kirtan practice unfolded, I noticed by beloved jam and party bands slipping in the ranks, as Krishna Das, Jai Uttal and the like seemed to always be chanting the names on my airwaves. Then came David Newman. He's the ultimate crossover wallah praising Ma to a groovy bhakti beat. His single benefiting those affected by Hurricane Katrina, 'Stay Strong' quickly became my go to at work pick me up. I dove into the vault loving "Leap of Grace" "To Be Home (with Mira)", "Love, Peace, Chant" and of course the earworm tune all my friends and fam are now singing "You Can Count On Me/Shyam Bolo". I couldn’t wait for the release of “Travel well”. Just downloaded and obviiiiiioooouuusly loving it. It’s bound to be yet another household classic. Jai Ma! xo

The Title Track "Travel Well" was written in the wake of the Sandy Hook Tragedy. I cry every time I hear it. This song, like others on this CD, are like Prayers set to music. Soulful and warm. Moving. Love throughout. Whatever the Journey, this music reminds us that we are not Alone. <3
