I was first introduced to Seal’s debut album by an old roommate, when it was originally released in 1991. At the time I predominately listened to 80s wave and some classic rock. So this album was a significantly different type of music than what I would choose. Sometimes in life there are these unique sets of circumstances and conditions where perfection happens. Where talent and creativity blend to form something incredible. That’s what this album is It’s 2021 and this album is still such an amazing creation, from beginning to end.
  • Greatly Underappreciated Album

The song Crazy seems to distract from several other excellent cuts on the album. From the opening with The Beginning, the mixed pace of Deep Water, the pumping rhythm of Future Love Paradise, the social commentary of Killer (later covered by George Michael) and the sad reflection of Violet make this a solid album. Although some songs are becoming dated with time, still worth a listen.

Seals vocals are top notch for this incredible debut album. 🎤There are only 9 songs that clock in around 51 minutes of listening time, which are all stellar. 🎼It’s an album that you can listen all the way through without wanting to skip over one of them.🎧 Seal and Trevor Horn are undoubtedly a great team. I can only hope they can recreate magic like this one day again. 💎

  • PLEASE REMASTER!

Still, by far, my favorite Seal album, and one of my overall favorite albums of all time. It so desperately deserves the remastering treatment. The songs both on my old CD and here on iTunes have such a low sound quality compared to new remasters. Trevor's production is always so lush and layered, I can only imagine how amazing all these songs (especially Violet) would just explode after remastering. Remaster it, and we will buy it!

Phenomenal album. One of my favorites of all time. The pairing of Seal with Trevor Horn was brilliant, and the result is probably the very best albums of the 1990s. Classic.
