  • As usual this is just the literal best

Listening to Jenny Owen Youngs is the most amazing, fabulous, cathartic experience one can have. The idea that someone can be this talented while simultaneously being such an outstanding person is mind boggling (seriously just look at her tumblr). She remains one of the few artists I will buy a whole album from every time because she has never let me down. All you need to know is that she is a mythical majestic land mermaid and her siren's song will shatter your expectations.

Jenny Owen Youngs' Slack Tide EP is a unique pleasure. The "re-imagining" of three songs is really interesting. Built around intimate performances without being too stark or overdone. I can think of many songs that could go even further with a "re-imaginged" version as well. The new song "Over The Bow" epicly swings us from side to side. And the Johnny Cash cover really goes for it. Good work, Jenny.
  • Reimagining at its best

I have to say I'm a little biased as one of the people that contributed to the PledgeMusic campaign that funded this, but Jenny Owen Youngs did a great job of taking songs that many of her fans enjoyed greatly and finding a completely new way to arrange and perform them. These aren't remixes, these are completely new variations, performances and arrangements that evoke and entirely different style that separates them from the collective whole of the album they may have been on and treats them as individuals. With the added bonus of a new original and a great cover. Wonderfully Done!

This EP is great!! So hauntingly beautiful. I absolutely loved the way Jenny was able to rethink her own music...it shows the mark of a true musical genius. Also shoutout to Greg Holden for helping out because he is rad. You should all buy this EP because it's fantastic, and there are not many people more genuinely talented than Jenny Owen Youngs <3

So I have been a fan for a long while and so I was so happy to hear about this EP coming out. It's wonderful, fabulous, marvelous and I can probably go on for days on how much I like it. I've had it on repeat since I bought it Tuesday. :)

LOVING this!!!! I had the pleasure of hearing Jenny perform "Ring of Fire" live last year and I'm pumped she included it on this gem of an EP. Seriously, guys. Perfect for any occasion.

The EP is actually re-imagined versions, instead of just re-recorded or acoustic versions. You get a new song and a pretty legit cover, too. Buy it- you won't be disappointed. Brilliant, haunting and beautiful.

This EP is absolutely incredible! Every song is catchy and inspiring. It is music that can infiltrate your background while driving on the perfect day with the windows down. It is music that you can listen to in your room on any given night to help gain clarity. For the longest time now I have been looking for music to inspire me and have a sense of belonging. This EP does it for me. Please Jenny, keep up the incredible work!
