Nutracker on tracks 2-23. That should not happen with the NYCB orchestra. Come on.

I would give it a 5/5, but it's missing the opening piece for Act II!!! Other than that I love it!

If the angel part is missing, check out David Maninov & The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra's "The Nutcracker" (Complete Ballet Score). This has the angel part, which, to a mom-of-an-angel in the ballet, is the best part!

The angels music is missing. I had the part as an angel for 2 years. I can't believe it's missing:(

The pas de trois with the masks and opera is not part of ballanchine's version. That was a production of the pacific northwest ballet in Seattle ...

I really really love this album. I've been watching George Balanchine's original TV broadcast on tape since is was little. But, i can't find my favorite part anywhere.... there's a part where there's a group of 4 people dancing with these masks they hold on sticks, and there's an opera singer in the background..... and i love that song... that was my favorite part of the whole broadcast.... and i can't find it anywhere. i recently found out that that's not in the original peice that Tchaickovsky wrote.... but shouldn't it be in Balanchine's soundtrack??.... i really don't know where to find it... and some help would be greatly appreciated.....

Yes I was very happy to find the version that my sister and I used to listen to, on iTunes. We love the Nutcracker, and my sister has appeared in the Nutcracker with the Sacramento Ballet (the Ballet company in our city) almost every single year since she was about 8. So I've grown up loving this music, and every Christmas we go to see it and afterwards my sister tries teaching me her dances. Now, I was very happy to find this album, since it is the one that I am used to, but I can't buy singles? I have most of the songs, but there are a few that are missing and I was hoping to be able to buy just the ones that I needed! I really hate the whole 'album only' thing that iTunes has going because all it does is make people more upset.
  • What an album!

For all of the ballet adicts out there- and even just the audience members that fell in love with it, too- the Nutcracker Ballet music is the perfect holiday choreography music, or just for enjoyment. Two thumbs up!
  • FULL SCORE!!!

At least, as far as I can tell, this is the entire score of The Nutcracker. Most of the other scores I have checked out on iTunes are only the highlights, and skip over much of the first act. I happen to think that leaving out parts of The Nutcracker is heresy!! It shouldn't be done, and is absurd. Yes, the highlights are good, but the entire piece is so much better in it's full form!! So I think this to be the best Nutcracker over all the others on iTunes currently.
