2000, This was the first film I recorded on Hi8 tape. It was initially edited with analog equipment (2 VCRs) but I later recut it when I had access to digital editing software. The voice-over was actually recorded with an old cassette walkman in an attempt to match the Lo-fi audio of the walky-talky. I wrote and recorded it while working as a guard at the Seattle Art Museum. It's a film about job satisfaction and redemption through art. Museum guards take a lot of abuse from the public. Many visitors are not aware that most of them are artists. Everyone cast in this film was an artist and a guard. The music was provided by Paul Rucker, who also worked at the Seattle Art Museum at that time. Insecurity In Security screened multiple times at SAM and was received enthusiastically by the guard staff, less so by the public. The title is still one of my favorites. A short film by Aaron Bourget.
