In the depths of my sorrow
I salvage what little happiness I find
I turn for help but to no avail, talk to me.
Through the darkness I stroll stumbling upon shards of my
Once peaceful life yet no one to share my feelings with, talk to me.

I look up and see a ray of light, a ray of hope that lies within
Its so high up yet so deep down, out of reach, talk to me.
Back slouched as I walk trying to keep an interest in
My life that seems so delicate and fragile, talk to me.

I hear sentences being spoken in all directions
But not one is intended for my ears, talk to me.
In a hoarded crowd of millions though I feel so alone
Heads with no faces, bodies with no souls, talk to me.

There is a deafening bang! Then once again
I stand all alone in my fight for peace, talk to me.
I open my eyes and awake from my dream
I never want to live my life like that so please talk to me.

colin kahi

http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/internal-battle/
