Evening raises the curtain
from the waning horizon,
dusk tip-toes on the moss of darkness
casting solitary shadows
that stroll like somnambulist.
Flames of flapping fireflies follow
the trill cries of chirping cicadas

Perched above, like a yellow parrot,
moon beams from the canopy of cotton-clouds
and stars cluster like silver mushrooms
in the wonderful wilderness of skies,
spilling stardust
that seeps in my window sill.
as zephyr sings
hymns of moonlit insanity

Magical dreams drift
from the distant heavens
drizzling like raindrops on the pane of eyes.
Lying on the bed of diaphanous desires,
beneath the lavender layers of lust
I sail in the solitary sea of slumber.
calling your name in silent whispers -
I strip your image in ecstasy
inhaling your heady fragrance
and drape my body with the apparel of
your sensuous scent.

Blinded by the dazzle of moonlight,
my eyes etch my soul’s reflection
in the mirror of secluded sleep
and I die a perpetual death
in the pages of my lunatic poetries
as Life drops the curtains
after my Final Act…

Copyright 2008 © Bharat B.
