The sensation livened me <br />Under the water totally free. <br />Gliding through the water <br />Feeling as light as air, <br />Not many get this feeling. <br /> <br />In the ocean <br />Land nowere in sight, <br />I go with the currents <br />But sometimes i fight. <br /> <br />Ridingthe waves <br />Alone and cold, <br />I want to give up but iI say no <br />Don't stop. Go for the gold. <br />Lungs burning <br />With every breath I take, <br />I feel a hundred years old <br />My body numb, full of ache. <br />Diving under waves <br />Then breaking free, <br />I have to finish this swim! <br />I said only to me. <br /> <br />My body was tired, <br />But my spirits were high. <br />My mother always told me <br />'reach fo the sky'. <br />I knew they were right <br />I CAN do anything, <br />Set my goals high. <br />There's more to me than what meets the eye. <br /> <br />It's a tough challenge <br />Miles from home <br />I'm glad I'm not alone. <br /> <br />I sprint my way out <br />Using everything left in me, <br />The closer I am to shore, <br />The more I feel I'm winning. <br /> <br />Hurrying as fast as I can go, <br />Noth listening to the buzz ringing in my ear <br />I swim. <br />And I could see it, <br />It's right there! <br /> <br />I wanted to hollar. <br />I wanted to cheer. <br /> <br />But this swim isn't finished <br />Because I'm not there.<br /><br />Summer Holst<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/a-great-sensation/
