  • Cannot register with US phone #

    In order to buy bus tickets with the app, you must register with your phone number and then they will send you a SMS code via text, in order to complete your registration. The needed code will not arrive to a US phone #, therefore you cannot use this app as intended; allowing the tourist to buy bus tickets before getting on the bus.

  • Loading money does not work with foreign cards

    I read the other reviews that this app does not work with foreign SMS authentication. So, I went and bought an Italian SIM card so that I could ride the bus. After I created my bus account using my new Italian phone number, I tried to load money onto the app. I tried 3 different credit cards from 3 different banks. 1 Visa and 2 Mastercard. These cards work everywhere else in Italy. They are 3D secure. But, they don’t work for the Verona bus app. All the cards failed. And, the app doesn’t accept Apple Pay or any other payments that work with foreign cards.

    This app is really useless. To use, you must set up an account. To set up an account you need to verify with an SMS PIN, The app says it has sent a PIN but it never arrives (at least with a foreign phone number). Super frustrating. This is embarrassing for Verona: cities all over Europe, including in less wealthy places (Romania) have similar apps that work flawlessly. Fixing this should be an afternoon’s work for a competent software engineer!

  • SMS verification is broken

    App insists on requiring SMS verification, but it doesn’t work (US phone number). Makes the app completely useless.
