I never review apps, but the NYTimes Cooking app is amazing. By far, it’s my favorite and most-used app. It’s the only app subscription I’ve ever paid. Just super easy to use and jam-packed with fantastic content.

This is a subscription required app that still shows ads. Good recipes but on principle that is insane.
  • Great recipes for not so professional cooks!

NY Times Cooking is the first place I check when searching an ingredient or recipe. It’s the gold standard when comparing recipes. The many informed comments section add to the already well researched directions. All in all, a trusted resource that I hope never goes away!
  • Add a video filter

Love the app and content. I’d love to see a way to filter by recipes with video. The cooking videos are my favorite part!
  • Needs ingredient scaler

I would give this 5 stars if only I could scale the recipes. I’m a family of 2 and these recipes don’t always make for good leftovers. Please add an ingredient/portion scaler! 🙏
  • Sign In with Apple broken

I created a sign in with apple account when I originally signed up on the New York Times news app. When I try to use that email to login it tells me that there is an Apple account associated with that email. But when I click on the sign in with Apple, it doesn’t recognize that that is part of the New York Times and keeps prompting me to try to create a new account. problem is then my subscription that I pay for wouldn’t show up for the cooking app.
  • Wonderful recipes, and easy!

I have used NYTimes cooking for years, and actually use it to show my non-culinary friends how simple it is to make delicious meals for a tiny percentage of ordering in. So much fun!
  • Wonderful… Just one suggestion?

Too many salmon recipes. Otherwise it’s glorious.
  • Love the NYT cooking app

The best idea ever. The app takes me right to the cooking section so I don’t have to encounter any of the newspaper’s lies, propaganda, and bias. What a terrific idea.
