Fifteen years later, this album of Joan's remains some of her best work. Great song choices, good range from rock to R&B and soul, super arrangements. Great party music!!! Or almost anytime.

Joan Osborne as a vocalist, I think, is often overlooked. Everyone just remembers "One of Us," but this album is a perfect showcase of her true vocal talents. She shows off her unique take on classic blues hits by artists like Aretha Franklin. I find her voice almost mesmerizing and definitely powerful even though she never pushes it over the top. "War" may be my favorite if for no other reason than because it is so different from the original version.
