Joan is back

Any fan of Joan's bluesy work on 'Relish' will want this album. I have been waiting for a long time for her to do some more blues genre music and this album is it! It doesn't have the rawness as Relish, and is a tad too polished as far as production goes for a blues aficionado like me who has not only listened to, but studied "blues" music for over 25 years, but still, it is well worth the purchase. I recently read a review from one of the top leading "Blues" publications that ripped the album and Joan to shreds with statements like some songs "should have been left behind on cutting room floor"; and described it as a "misguided recording". That's "bunk". Every musician is an individual and they have their own way of delivering their personal style through their music. If you like blues with a touch of R&B, and you like Joan Osborne, you will not be disappointed as the "Blues" publication reported. Well Done Joan and Jack! I like what you did!. Others will as well. Don't let certain reviews get to you.
Sincerely, Mr. Jack
Thank you Joan and Co.!

Grrrlll--your politics annoy the hell out of me but this effort is transcendent and so pitch perfect it is irresistible! Well done! Suffice to say that this whole thing is an exercise in excellence, with major, passionate talent bursting out all over--from the production to the BGV's. A coming together of many wonderful things that has me praising God! Thank-you
Joan is BACK in a BIG WAY!

Where has this Joan Osborne been. I've been looking for her since Relish and Righteous Love. This isn't quite up to those standards, but it rocks.

I've loved Joan for years, but she slipped off my radar for a good while. This album is what I needed.
A wish came true

I love this record. Top to bottom it's "neck hair standing up" good from one of the best soul singers around. I always wanted Joan to do a straight up R&B record, and this is it.
'bout time...

Joan takes the blues out back to the woodshed. This is Joan as her voice was meant to be 'played'. I first realized her throaty timbre on the documentary about the Funk Brothers. Wow! I would be ready for my maker to take me if I could hear Joan and Bonnie perform a duet.
Loving it!
