The Sea and the Rhythm, just stops me dead in my tracks every time. Sam Beam is truly amazing in his ability to craft simple songs and make them more powerful with the space within them.

I have bought bits and pieces of almost every album by Iron and Wine. This one could be my favorite. The Sea and the Rythym is an amazing song, as is Beneath the Balcony.

I have no regrets buying this at all. Of everything I've heard from Iron & Wine this is my favorite; each song is beautifully done. Sam Beam's voice is so mellow and the simplicity of the EP make this the epitome of lo-fi. I really can't pick a favorite on here as I've come to love all of the songs for different reasons. If you like the previews then this is worth your money. I previewed it at a Boarders store and at first didn't know whether to buy it, but it's only gotten better since I did so. Lovely EP for anyone who likes Iron & Wine.

Absolutely incredible album. If you consider yourself a fan and questioning whether or not to buy this album, do it. My favorite track is The Sea and the Rhythm, full of rustic banjo guitar peels and intimate lyrics that could only come from the mind of Sam Beam

To anyone who thinks that the US doesn't produce talent, they should look no further than Sam Beam, the man behind Iron and Wine. His haunting voice and delicate lyrics will stay with you long after each and every song has ended.

You can tell this was from creek drank the cradle, especially in the vocals. The night decending is really cool- sounds like a bit of delta blues. At least florida can do one thing right
  • This is not the best of Iron and Wine...

...but this was the CD that I first heard. The lyrics, as always, are fascinating. These people are brilliant musicians. This CD gets five stars, but 'Woman King' and 'Our Endless Numbered Days' are my favorites.

Having seen Iron and Wine in concert multiple times, and owning every album, i will say that there is nothing that can compair to the pure musical beauty of Sam's voice. This is hands down, my absolute favorite CD in my extensive collection. Nothing can compair
