interesting, though, how most of this music is 25 or so years old. is the current John Adams so inaccessible? although all of these pieces are wonderful, in a movie i don't think to the general public they'll be distinguishable from Glass's scores. beautiful music, not sure about the execution.

I'm going to go ahead and call it. John Adam's score for "I am Love" will win the Oscar for best score this year. Granted, I haven't heard the score for "Inception" yet, but Adam's score captures everything magical, emotionally moving and a reminder of why movies are meant to be both seen and heard. John Adam's brilliant work here reminds me of a modern day Henry Mancini with a touch of Chopin and the experimentation of John Williams' from the 80s. Highly recommend if you love classical music with a cinephile twist!

John Adams is a magnificent composer, and this album shows some of his best moments. "I Am Love" is a brilliantly acted drama which is driven by its score, and the soundtrack shows it. Songs like "The Chairman Dances" and "Lollapalooza" give powerful music without sounding too serious on the ear. Harmonielehre: Part III is a brilliant climax which slowly builds from what seems tranquil and peaceful into a dramatic strings conclusion. "I Am Love" benefits from this amazing score, and here's to hoping that you not only buy this outstanding album but also go and see an outstanding movie.

Whatever the controversy of the opera that bore it (and the tragedy that served as its inspiration), I think the opening seventy seconds of Klinghoffer's Death are pure bliss, practically like classical music crack cocaine - I understand why Guadagnino chose Adams for the soundtrack, there's a naturally cinematic quality to his work.
