The imagery of seeds, fruit and harvest, permeates Scripture from start to finish. It is not surprising that Jesus, as He often does, uses these familiar images from the natural world to impart truths of God's kingdom. In the parable of the sower, Jesus reminds us powerfully that He is the seed which can be received and grow within hearts, home and the world at large bringing healing and wholeness. While not everyone is ready to receive the seed, our role as Christ followers is to imitate Christ as we bear fruitful witness to Jesus and His beautiful kingdom. In order to do this we need to see and value each every relationship as an opportunity to imitate Christ in word and deed as the Spirit draws all people to Jesus.
