    I don’t like that the estimated time for rides in your area are not accurate. It will say 1-2 mins but you can wait 10-15 mins

    Using a rented electric car in Los Angeles is absolutely pointless. You can’t even make enough money to cover the daily charging costs. The advertised 250-mile range is completely misleading. In real-world rideshare driving, the battery can be nearly drained after fewer than ten average rides. Then you have to deal with the difficulty of finding an available charging station, long lines, long charging times, around $30 per charging session, and an additional $50 authorization hold every single time. If you work longer hours or use the A/C heavily, you may need to charge twice in one day, which can mean wasting more than two hours just waiting and charging. The bonuses and promotional claims are also misleading and simply do not come close to covering the actual costs. Instead, what you can expect is an endless stream of $3 rides, often in areas where traffic is completely gridlocked. Meanwhile, even with a 100% acceptance rate and constantly driving around busy areas looking for rides, you may work for eight hours and still struggle to make even $40. Under these conditions, using a rented electric vehicle for rideshare work in Los Angeles simply does not make financial or practical sense.

    Usually I don’t have an issue with the app, until now. On 09/02/2026 I drove, but was missing $6 from my earnings when I stopped driving. I called Lyft support and they told me that they couldn’t tell me why the $6 was missing. Then on 09/03/2026 I had two passengers who added a stop to their ride. Once I reached the stop and the passenger returned to my vehicle, when I pressed “head to the drop off”, the app ended my ride early. When I asked Lyft support about it, they said that they can’t see where a stop was added on there, but it’s recorded in my app.

    Today was my first day driving and I must say it went really well! Learned a few things about the app while driving. The directions are great. Customers were really nice and understanding when I was unable to see them immediately. We exchanged a quick “where are you” text and then we were off.
