  • It Is What It Is - Poor Quality

To each - His own, I suppose. Blow all that sunshine up someone else's skirt about the quality of this recording being great. It wasn't. If your journey brought you here in search of quality Mountain material, stay the course and remain on your quest, cause it sure isn't here, friend. It is what it is - Poor Quality! Plain and simple. Save your money for sounds that are worth capturing. There's much better Mountain material elsewhere. Beyond here, there be dragons....
  • Live at the Woodstock Festival

Hopefully we will see the release of Mountain: The Woodstock Experience as has been the case for Joplin, Winter, Sly, and Santana. It seems songs are missing here-- southbound train? Which of the songs on this album are from Woodstock and which are from the New Canaan High School show? As far as I can tell the setlist from their performance was as follows: Blood of the Sun, Stormy Monday, Theme for an Imaginary Western, Long Red, For Yasgur's Farm, Beside the Sea, Waiting to Take You Away, Dreams of Milk and Honey > Guitar Solo, Blind Man (???) , Dirty Shoes Blues (???), Southbound Train.
  • Great! But...

If you are familiar with the Woodstock soundtrack, then you know that this is a stupendously good band at the peak of their musical powers. I'm buying this because, as far as I can tell, this is the only way to hear their whole set at Woodstock. But what I want to know is, wasn't the whole set professionally taped? Isn't that where the two tracks (Blood of the Sun and Theme for an Imaginary Western) on the Woodstock soundtrack came from? Pro-quality recording? So why isn't the rest of the set available on tape to be cut into a whole live album that sounds as good as those two tracks? Did somebody just tip the extra tape into the garbage, thinking, "ahhhh, nobody 'll ever wanna listen to any of that?" Or did the tapes deteriorate to the point where this bootleg is all there is? It's great to be able to hear this whole set, even through the mud and gravel of a bootleg recording - but WOW, wouldn't it be great to hear this whole set from the original tape of the Woodstock soundtrack that must have existed at one time? I wonder if anyone has answers about this?
  • The Sound Quality Is Terrible

Just as the title denotes this is a terrible recording. It's certainly not worth the price, especially considering the fact it does not even have the actual line up from the Woodstock festival. Please, save yourself the expense.

For a bootleg, it's pretty good quality. The music is great. I always loved Mountain, and I think this was a great performance.
  • I Like it

The 2 guys below me just dont understand that the sound quality makes it sound like its being blasted over the speakers at woodstock and makes you feel like your there.

  • Very poor audio quality

I was expecting a lot better audio quality for this classic concert. The cover, the hype of the web site makes you think you are getting a 1st rate recording. If you want to add to your Mountain/Leslie West collection, the price is right.
