This is the first David Sanborn album I bought 42 years ago on vinyl. My all time favorite song is Promise Me the Moon sung by the great barefoot Hyram Bullock. David has always had a distinct sound that stands out on so many studio sessions with the Stones, Bowie, Al Jarreau, Marcus Miller, and many others. I wish he would remake some of the classic songs on this album, especially Promise, Morning Salsa, and Strangers Arms on a new release. It would be great.

This album introduced me to David Sanborn, I wore this album out when I was in college. It's nostalgic, but very smooth. If you take the time, most of this purchase will work for you. Promise me the moon is an awesome tune, not especially for the horn but for the beat and lyrics. We fool ourselves and morning salsa rock. The legend is cool too! for the price you can't beat it. It's well worth it.

One of the first jazz albums I ever bought, found it in the cut out bin back in the late 70's shortly after its release. It starts off good with Promise me and a James Taylor Written instrumental Benjamin . The album kind of goes down hill from there. Listening to the album takes me back to a time when things were simple .A good start to Sanborn's career.
