  • A turbo-charged SNES game

Listening to this reminds me of super nintendo-esque game sounds. Imagine an SNES game whose graphics begin to exceed the hardware capabilities of the system itself. I think that is a fitting metaphor for why this album is fun to listen to.
  • An Amazing EP

This is Squarepusher at the top of his game. Every track on this EP is solid. Excellent song writing balanced by a refined and tasteful experimental production, executed by a very talented Bass Player to top it off. The jazz-fushionish sound verges on a 8-bit chiptune aesthetic, with drums beats sputtering everywhere in epileptic rhythms. Tom Jenkins is on par with musicians such as Trent Reznor, Amon Tobin, and Akira Yamaoka, who combine excellent song writing with an experimental progressive sound palette.

Never really been into squarepusher much, but this stuff is pretty good. Interesting combination of jazzy rythms with pure techno sounds.

This EP is hotter than hell, and by the far the best thing Tom Jenkinson has done in ages. He is forgoing his recent foray into the free jazz world by keeping it beautifully simple here, and giving us the tastiest beats and most frantic production not heard since LFO's Sheath back in 2003. Great rave sounds on this EP with some absolutely excellent production. "Arterial Fantasy" is the standout, but the entire EP must be heard to fully appreciate. I give Numbers Lucent my highest recommendation, especially for those who appreciate Squarepusher's mid-90's sound! Oh yes, a note to Freeleo who dismissed this EP, and declared that Squarepusher had probably never been to the Paradise Garage. Please do your homework, Freeleo. If you think Tom Jenkinson ever wanted to go to the Paradise Garage then you're probably missing the joke here. "Garage" music can mean many things to many people. Go figure it out, eh?

This sounds awful! Naming that awful sound after The Paradise Garage is an insult to the memory of the the greatest club in the world. You can tell these people had never been there. Crap!
