If there were a poll for Best Album of All Time, this one would get my vote. And, don't forget, it introduced a very young Ricky Skaggs

Roses in the Snow is a landmark album any way you look at it. It brought an entire new audience to traditional bluegrass music that may otherwise never have found it, and established Emmylou as one of the most influential artists of her time. Her ear for talent is beyond reproach, and she walked the talk about spotlighting the finest musicians in roots music. This album is exquisitely performed and produced, and in my humble opinion, a perfect album — and is in my top 20 of best albums ever made. It stands up today — in 2015 — as well as it did 35 years after it was released. A true masterpiece.
