Emmylou Harris has been on of my favorite artists for nearly 3 decades. This was the first album of hers I purchased back in the late 70s and am so pleased to see it remastered.
Best tracks:
C'est la vie [great song to dance in your kitchen with friends while fixin dinner]
Night Flyer [reminds me of long road trips driving less than reliable transportation across the midsection of the country]
Hello Stranger and Making Believe [these country standards from earlier legends really come to life with her graceful touch]
In the end, Emmylou has a voice that is distinct, interpretations that are soulful, and instrumentals that hit all the right notes.

This one song, Night Flyer, is beautiful. The rest are great, too, but don't overlook this gem. Beautiful, spooky, sad country.

I bought this LP in Izmir, Turkey in 1977. I played it almost daily. Her music on this album was crisp and clear. "You're Supposed to be feeling good" is a track I've hunted for. It and others helped me in my grief at the loss of my wife, coincidentally on Emmylou's birthday. A fan of her solo career since 1975, A woman, who like a fine wine, has become more beautiful with age.
My favorite CD of all time

I remember the review in the "Beaver County Times," (suburban Pittsburgh), when I was 16. It said: "Too rock for country; too country for rock. Who'll get it?" Well, I got it.
Along with Fleetwood Mac's "Rumours," this CD is just my favorite of all time.
Come to think about it...this is my favorite CD of all time,

I have very eclectic tastes (ie: not a country or folk nut), and this is one of my all time favorite albums of all times. Emmylou has one of the most beautiful voices ever.... EVER.

How pleased I was to find one of my favorite albums showing up again! For all the blessings the "O, Brother, Where Art Thou" soundtrack and "Trad-Country-Revival" it helped to re-spark; Emmylou Harris had been doing it all along! When "overplayed and overrated " acts like the Eagles and Linda Rondstadt pummeled the public with their "California-Country-Rock"; Emmylou and her underrated Hot Band were "keepin' it real" for us in college in Boston in the middle 70's!
She made us want to go back and re-discover the Brothers Louvin and Everly, Graham Parsons and the Flying Burrito Brothers; Bob Wills and Texas Swing; fantastic stuff that no one was playing, not even on hip "college radio". A gourgeous voice, a National Treasure!
Luxury Liner is a fine introduction to Emmylou Harris' musical gifts!...by Grimmbo
