  • The best REAL country album ever.

Story-telling at its best. Tight band, perfect harmonies. Buy this, unless you are into the pop smaltz that passes for Country these days.

Sally Rose might not have sold well but thats because people are close minded. It's branching out and taking a musical risk, seeing as concept records in country "don't sell" I find this to be her most personal album still to this day and I really really like it. I've heard several artists over the years cover songs from this CD and I really like it's story, even if you miss the story, it's still a great listen.
  • A great album! One of my favorites, any genre...

I had this years ago, on cassette (I know...), and I've missed it for so long. Just never seemed to be available. Glad it's back. Sounds just like I remember. Great songs and musicians. As I've gotten older I've understood a bit more about it all - some of the things talked about or hinted at - and it just makes it an even more amazing work. I guess a lot of references and allusions were lost on the teenage me, who was a bit more ignorant and unaware of Harris' past and connections. Now it all kinda makes beautiful sense, listening with older, more clued-in ears... A great story, a great album. One of my all-time favorites. To me, it's one of those rare albums that gets better the more you listen. How the songs just weave around and tell the tale. And it touches on so many styles, it's always interesting just from a musical/instrumental perspective, even if you don't pay attention to the words (but you should). It wasn't much of a commercial success, but since when does that really mean much, or reflect the true quality of something? Exactly. :)
