Making Believe has been the most favorite song. I have played it hundreds of times since 1977 and it still reminds me of my lost love.

Emmylou has that rare ability to capture a mood with remarkable grace, talent and pure vocal power. I love this album. Her duet with Gram Parsons on Love Hurts is enough to melt the stoniest heart. Two More Bottles Of Wine brings to mind long lonely nights. Lower the lights, pour some good sippin whiskey and enjoy!

Just a quick endorsement of the final sentence of the i-tune review above. "The Connection", while not one of the "hits" is a simple and stunningly good song, perfectly sung (of course) and arranged. Do check it out.
Great Emmylou

If you only buy one Emmylou album, this is it. My favorites are Pancho and Lefty, Making Believe, One of These Days and If I Could Only Win Your Love. Oops, also Two More Bottles of Wine and Together Again are also great. Trust me, I have been a fan since the 70's, own all her albums, and this is really the best.
Awesome.

It's true that there a lot of awesome Emmylou Harris songs that I wish had been included on this record ("Red Dirt Girl," "Till I Gain Control Again," "Easy from Now On," "Leaving Louisiana in the Broad Daylight") but nevertheless this is just an incredible, beautiful overview of some of the highlights of Emmylou Harris' career. If you're looking to pick only a couple of tracks, I recommend the ones that are standouts for me: "Two More Bottles of Wine," "One of These Days," "Boulder to Birmingham," the Gillian Welch cover "Orphan Girl" from the "Wrecking Ball" album, and of course the Gram Parsons duet "Love Hurts."

Considering the female singers to choose from ONE stands out, Emmylou Harris. The dedication to her music and clarity of voice is simply the finest available.
Not being a country music, rather a Jazz advocate she could rate with the greatest of Jazz female vocalist.
Emmylou,if you read this cut an album with Tony Bennet and set new standards for all of us to enjoy.
Great voice.

Wow, does her voice just get better the older she gets? (sorry, Emmylou, but true!)
A wonderful album, incredible vocals supported by some great musicians.
