Description

Google Photos is a smarter home for all your photos and videos, made for the way you take photos today. “The best photo product on Earth” – The Verge “Google Photos is your new essential picture app” – Wired “Upload the pictures, and let Google Photos do the rest” – The New York Times • 15 GB OF CLOUD STORAGE: Every Google Account comes with 15 GB of storage and you can choose to automatically back up all your photos and videos in Storage saver quality or Original quality. Your photos are safe, secure, and private to you. All photos and videos you backed up in Storage saver quality before June 1, 2021 do not count toward your Google Account storage. *Storage is shared between Gmail, Google Drive, and Google Photos. • FREE UP SPACE: Never worry about running out of space on your phone again. Photos that are safely backed up can be removed from your device’s storage in just a tap. • NO ADS: Google Photos doesn't sell your photos, videos, or personal information to anyone and we don't use your photos and videos for advertising. • FAST AND POWERFUL SEARCH: Your photos are now searchable by the people, places and things in them—no tagging required. • GOOGLE LENS: Search what you see. This preview enables you to identify text and objects in your photos to learn more and take action. • SMARTER SHARING: With smart sharing suggestions, giving your friends the photos you took of them is painless. And they can add their photos, too, so you’ll finally get the photos you’re actually in. • ADVANCED EDITING: Transform photos with a tap. Use intuitive and powerful photo and video editing tools to apply content-aware filters, adjust lighting, and more. • MOVIES AND GIFS, MADE FOR YOU: Get automatically created movies, collages, GIFs, and more from your photos. Or easily create them yourself. • LIVE ALBUMS: Share your latest photos with Live Albums. Select the people and pets you want to see and Google Photos will automatically add photos of them as you take them, no manual updates needed. • SHARED LIBRARIES: Share without sharing. Grant a trusted person access to all of your photos. • REDISCOVER: Get collages of photos you took a year ago on this day – perfect for #tbt. • ON YOUR TV: View your photos and videos on your TV with Chromecast and Airplay support. You can also upgrade storage for your Google Account, used for Original Quality photos and videos, Google Drive and Gmail by subscribing to Google One, an expanded storage plan. Subscriptions start at $1.99/month for 100 GB in the US. Pricing and availability can vary by region. Storage subscriptions purchased in-app will be charged to your iTunes Account, and automatically renew unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Subscriptions and auto-renewal may be managed by going to iTunes Account Settings after purchase. Nobody on iOS wants to use Google Photos unless they want to download photos they already uploaded before when they were on Android, or if someone else on Android wants to share their photos with them. Problem is that Google Photos is useless without insisting Full Access to your iOS photos, and keeping asking you to back them up on Google. Then one mistake, and suddenly all your photos are stored non-end-to-end-encrypted on Google. All this makes me think Google wants you to make this mistake.

For the last few days, notifications and my albums will not open. They just sit and spin on a blank page. My phone has service and all other online features for other apps and such are working. Please help! I need my albums back.
  • I want to remove my photos from Google photos and keep them on my iPhone but it won’t let me

Littraly what I just said, it’s using all of my drive storage and I never use it, I would like to be able to remove all of them without loosing them from my camera roll(ON A DIFFERENT APP). I do not want them on my Gmail account and I only got it to make a shared folder for a trip and now it has all of my photos and I can no longer do anything with my Gmail account as I am out of storage. This shouldn’t be something that is hidden on Google photos but it is.
  • Poor selection control.

I understand needing access to the photos you wish to process through the app, however it seems arbitrary to need full access to entire photo library to use the app. To add to the audacity of requiring access to entire library, the app says it doesn’t sell your photos for add preference, but doesn’t say it won’t sell your photos for other purposes.
  • Hate this app so much

“Can’t load motion. Try again” I get this at least 4 out 5 times. It was surprising at first, now it’s a miracle when it works. This has been going on for over a year now. I use the app exclusively for shared photos, so I don’t want to share my entire library. I can’t find the photos I want to share because search is useless without a bunch of manual work labeling things that the Photos app can handle fine without additional labeling. When I select a subset to expose to the app, it doesn’t even show everything I have selectively shared, and it breaks the app with constant efforts to strong arm me into sharing my entire library. The fact that it badges your app—not because there are new photos or comments, but to get you to look at purchasing items is just gross. Frankly Apple should block the app for violating notifications policy.

Family plan user, yet no one responds to feedback sent, and notifications for AI edits keep popping up, even though I've disabled Creations. Bad user experience, but good backup and overall performance.
