When i first got iMovie, it seemed pretty good. But there's a lot of limits you have with this app. Like, you can't import your own sounds and the themes for the trailers are... again, limited. But my biggest problem is that it really scared me a week ago. I had to log out of my mac so my sister could play a game and it wouldn't because of this app. It said it had tasks to complete while I didn't know what they were talking about at all. I couldn't close the app unless i deleted it and that means i had to delete all my hard work i put into my movies. Please fix this.
  • Absolutely Abysmal Program

I can’t do ANYTHING almost at all with this app. I get much better ability to edit a video in the photos app…I can’t even scrub through the video for example, can’t trim the clip… Like what in the heck? I assumed that a program literally called “iMovie” would be great for basic video editing, but it’s BAD. At least on my m1 MacBook Air.
  • What happened

As a non-professional editor, I used to know how this app worked and everything was simple and easy. WHAT HAPPENED!! Instead of drag dropping a video it keeps one frame for like 5sec. It also has to reload a video every time you edited it. Even if you’re trimming off like one second. I’ve never seen apple make something so bad, especially in the photo/video department. Please stop acting like some fancy video editor and give me back something usable!

I updated it for my mac and now it keeps crashing right while I'm in the middle of a project. I'm worried that one of these crashes is going to completely erase all of my progress, please fix this!!

I have loaded and unloaded this app several times, wasted countless hours to get it to work. clearing cache, you name it. it just wont work right. done. done . done. read countless help articles, , nothing works, still slow choppy takes 5 mins to load 3 secs of video. I have an iMac, runs really fast, all other video apps that are free work well, great super, but dont offer the options imovie offers. Might as well pay for what I need....
  • The UI is confusing & janky

Please fix all the minor UI issues. Some buttons are overlapped. Split views can't be resized. The UI has no hierarchical design. I'm not sure what goes with that because of the flat design. There are also so many UI elements that aren't aligned properly and resizing the window is so incredibly slow and choppy.
