I have a 2023 MBP, M2 Max, with 96GB of RAM, with the 38 Core GPU, and this program manages to somewhat defeat my computer. I’ve imported about 5GB of footage, and I’m slowing down all of the clips. Premier Pro handles this, well like a pro, I don’t have to wait for rendering or any processing at all really. iMovie has slowed to a complete stop even when I try to just select a clip, and even if I hover my mouse over any part of the program, I get a spinning wheel for about 2-3 minutes. What should’ve been a quick 15 minute edit has now turned into 1hr +.

Can you update the app logo for iOS 26? Along with GarageBand’s logo?
  • Garbage

Tried to do the simplest of edits, and changes to one part of the timeline were literally deleting my work! Unusable, shocking how they’ve managed to actively make a worse product over time.
  • This was Amazing years ago. Update something please

iMovie was the best & easy to use but has not been updated in about 7 years. The same 7 songs for background music, the same backgrounds, it’s all old. Nothing has changed with advancements. Apple you are the best! Please keep up with tech advancements. I hate having to go to google to get what I need. Come on.
  • Are Apple developers stupid or do they just hate their users?

If you can't afford Final Cut Pro, then this free alternative is pretty nice. Though the user interface is kinda strange it works well.
  • Worst apple software I ever seen, very buggy

I have to force-quit the app once every 5 minutes or so because it stops responding.
