  • Cannot identify what plays on your computer

As other reviewers have noted, the inability to listen to system audio means this is a useless app for computers. Why would I need to identify the song playing around me on a computer? But I surely would like to know the soundtrack in that YouTube video or the credit song from the last Netflix show I played. Just a horribly missed opportunity to be remotely useful on anything other than a phone.

  • Doesn't feel like an Apple app

iOS and iPad OS sync. Apple Watch Syncs. Mac version is a silo on it's own. Why isn't this a universal app at this point?
  • Nice Interface, Please Listen to System Audio like iOS

As of right now, Shazam on the Mac can not listen to system audio. It'd be more worth it for Apple to port over the iPadOS version of Shazam at this point because it cannot recognize songs being played through the system itself. At least not without the help of additional software.
  • No login, horrible UI

Was this app done by an intern who did not have time to finish it and it was released as is then? No proper interface, it has ads (even though I bough a premium version that disapeared), no sync, no access to my library. As if no one ever really used it before releasing. And on top of that the Website version can't login to my account. It suppose to send a magic link, but it just does not send it.
  • App takes over headphone volume channel

Whenever I am listening to audio through my airpods and I open Shazam, the volume from my AirPods gets super loud and distorted, and stays that way until I quit the app. Don't get how it works so terribly on macOS but so seamlessly works on iOS. Even picks up your internal audio with no audio interruptions on iOS. The experience on macOS is so terrible compared to iOS that it's easier for me to just use my phone to listen to audio from my computer.
  • Please fix menu bar icon

When clicking the menu bar icon, it turns white. it is the only menu bar icon to do so, both among first party and 3rd party menu icons. It's very distracting and makes it feel like the applicaation is broken.

sinces it's acquisition it seems like about 80% of the less popular tunes no longer come up. I used to be surprised at Shazam's ability to find so much of what I am looking for. I also miss the auto shazam feature.
  • Good for my use!

There are times when Shazam won't detect the song that I'm trying to find, but it's almost always able to figure it out. Even in shows or when there's background noise, it can usually hear through everything and hone in on just the song. I appreciate the app having the option to click "Spotify" to have it search for the song without having to copy or paste anything.
